The Sims 4 is a life simulator, and life happens even when you’re away. That’s what the new feature of The Sims adds to the gameplay. Neighborhood Stories is the extension of what’s going on around you. Now your Neighbor Sims have lives of their own.

The main idea of these stories is to show the other Sims living their lives as usual (and yes, like your character too). They may start new careers, may have babies, may make choices in their way. In short, from nonplayables they evolve to characters. We had something similar in The Sims 3, but now it’s planned as a much greater change; it starts quite modestly, though, and only involves your character’s closest neighbors.

Your character, of course, can influence their choices in conversations or by making an example. There are Autonomous or Active Sim Influenced Life Changes which can happen under no influence of your character or a little help. With Autonomous-only changes, it does not take much if anything at all to motivate them; it’s all AI-driven. Finally, you can intervene and cause Active Sim Influenced Life Changes. These may be done in different ways, like inspiring romantic relationships between adult Sims, reducing friendships by trash talking, or encourage someone to change their life – e.g. get a job.

That’s what characterizes a good story (a novel, a movie or show, even a narrative-driven videogame). Other characters are not just functions in the way of the protagonist, they have their own intentions, act like they are inclined to, and pursue their own objectives. The Sims 4 has been lacking it for long, but this expansion takes the simulation on an entirely new level.

The new pack will arrive as a free update on November 30 – that is, today. Are you looking forward to it? Maybe by the moment you’re reading it you already have it? What do you think of the new system? Any bugs detected? Let’s talk about it in the comments!

The app named Mind, which is to appear in watchOS 8, will take even more care of the user’s mental health. Little is known about it besides the name, though. What has appeared in the image that Apple published recently is the name “com.apple.Mind”, along with more apps that are probably to appear in watchOS 8. More information on this is expected during WWDC 2021, that started yesterday, on June 7, but the...

In iPadOS 15, this similarity will become even greater, because of improved multitasking. So, the rumor has it that the new iPadOS will look even more like a laptop. For example, the new home screen will be able to place widgets anywhere – like on its Android alternatives. Now, instead of dedicated section, you will be able to place widgets where you want them to be. Reviewed multitasking will allow your iPad to better handle multiple apps at the same...

In iOS 14.5, users for the first time got an option to block tracking within any single app. Now Google follows the same route with its mobile platform. In late 2021, Android will introduce the same possibility, though not for everybody at the same time. You won’t have to wait for the next major update to see apps ask you whether you will let them track you and access your data. All it takes is a Google Services update, and Alphabet is already working on it. So,...
