The gaming console by Valve is officially announced, and it looks like the developer combined the best sides of Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The former comes to mind when you see the shape of the console with its 7” HD touchscreen, the latter is reminded of by the supported game library. Still, the console has a very original, recognizable style, with controls integrated on both sides of the screen and the overall design a bit futuristic.

The screen does not impress with its resolution (only 1280*800), but it supports the firm 60 FPS. Given the new hybrid chipset by AMD, 16 GM RAM, and limited memory, this low resolution will only provide better performance. Anyway, the aforementioned Nintendo Switch also has a mediocre screen next to smartphones and tablets, but it’s not what we love it for. The console comes with 64, 256, or 512 GB ROM, with microSD supported as well.

With the original Linux-based firmware named SteamOS 3.0, the console is able to run almost 8,000 games from the Steam library. Still, you can extend this number to almost all of them by installing Windows. Not the most comfortable size to use the generic features of the OS, but great if you want to play games on Steam (mostly Windows-compatible) and enjoy your Xbox Game Pass on a portable console. Of course, it only makes sense when you have a pro model with at least 256 GB storage.

The weight of the console is about 670 g – quite portable! Especially given that the controllers are already built-in. As for outputs, they include only 3.5 minijack and a USB-C for charging, video output, and other peripherals. There will also be a dock station with more ports, including Ethernet, HDMI, DisplayPort, and two USB 2.0.

Expect Steam Deck to hit the shelves in December. The price will start at $399 for the 64 GB version. The 256 GB console will cost you $529, and the 512 GB one - $649. Given how many cheap, discounted, or free games you can enjoy on it, it’s a bargain worth preordering right now (if it works well, of course).

The app named Mind, which is to appear in watchOS 8, will take even more care of the user’s mental health. Little is known about it besides the name, though. What has appeared in the image that Apple published recently is the name “com.apple.Mind”, along with more apps that are probably to appear in watchOS 8. More information on this is expected during WWDC 2021, that started yesterday, on June 7, but the...

In iPadOS 15, this similarity will become even greater, because of improved multitasking. So, the rumor has it that the new iPadOS will look even more like a laptop. For example, the new home screen will be able to place widgets anywhere – like on its Android alternatives. Now, instead of dedicated section, you will be able to place widgets where you want them to be. Reviewed multitasking will allow your iPad to better handle multiple apps at the same...

In iOS 14.5, users for the first time got an option to block tracking within any single app. Now Google follows the same route with its mobile platform. In late 2021, Android will introduce the same possibility, though not for everybody at the same time. You won’t have to wait for the next major update to see apps ask you whether you will let them track you and access your data. All it takes is a Google Services update, and Alphabet is already working on it. So,...
